Yesterday I talked about making art more personal and I’m all for it, but now, I’m going to suggest flipping the coin to see the other side.
Starting tonight, and lasting through August, several NYC parks will be showing movies for free.
How about The Muppet Movie at Hudson River Park or The Maltese Falcon at Brooklyn Bridge Park?
Seeing a movie this way is a different experience, it’s not a closed in theater. You’re sitting on a blanket stretched over grass and surrounded by thousands of fellow New Yorkers.
It’s communal. It’s a celebration of film and it will last the whole summer!
Bring a date, bring a bottle of wine, bring a blanket and enjoy.
